I just put together a new computer and cannot get it to boot up. I can get into the bios, and it shows the Windows XP splashscreen, then the blue screen of death with the error codes: 0X0000007B (0XF78S2524. 0X00000024) etc. The specs of the computer are:
Xclio WindTunnel case (new)
ECS GF8200A Black Series Motherboard (new)
AMD Athalon X2 7750 2.7 Black Edition CPU (new)
2ea. 2gb DDR2 800mhz ram Micron (new)
Seagate ST3160023AS hard drive
MSI NX8500GT PCi-e video card
I have tried 3 different hard drives (all working from other computers) to no avail, tried re-installing windows (when it gets done, and goes to boot up--there pops up the bsod!)
Are you using AHCI or IDE? You probably are using AHCI, but you are not loading the AHCI drivers from a floppy (or slipsteaming them to the installation CD) when installing XP. To make your life easier, you can set the SATA controller to IDE.
Read between the lines in regard to the link below, try the driver's from the motherboard CD and not updated driver's (SATA/RAID) from the manufactures website.
