My son wanted to build his first system. I know a little bit about computers and said I could help.

MB: ECS A780vm-m2
CPU: CPU AMD|PH X4 9950 2.6G AM2+
PSU: PSU LOGISYS|PS550E12 550W RT
CASE: CASE ROSEWILL|R6426-P BK RT
RAM: MEM 2GX2|TRANS JM4GDDR2-8K R
HDD: HD 500G|SAMG 7K 16M SATA2 HD501LJ
DVD: DVD BURN LITE-ON|DH-20A4P-04 20X %

(Using onboard video until we can get everything up and running)

Here is the issue,
We connected everything, 24pin PSU, 4 Pin CPU, DVD Drive, Hard Drive, RAM and case lights and power it up. All the fans spin 1 time, stop and then nothing. Triple checked everything, Replaced the PSU, took the MoBo out of the case, still nothing and I am running out of ideas.

Any suggestions would be great to get this thing alive. Am I missing something? It has been years since I have done this sort of thing. Is my MoBo dead? I have no clue.

Thank you for your time.

See if you can get the mobo to post with just about everything unplugged. Try just having CPU/RAM plugged. If that doesn't work, pull the RAM and try again. If that fails pull the CPU, try one more time for fun.

If the bios never displays and you never hear any beeps, take the mobo put it in a box. Luckily by this point you shouldn't have any hardware plugged into it and can just be sent back for a replacement.
