Ok here is my dilemma, i need to know what the difference is between these two types of ram because my computer apparently won't support one but it will the other and they both seem to be close to the same to me.

The ram that works is an infineon- HYS64D64320HU-5-C Assembled in Malaysia, 512mb, DDR, 400, CL3. PC3200U-30330-B0 C1E61632

The ram that doesnt work is an Infineon- HYS72D64320GU-5-B, B1E33502, 64MX72 SDRAM, PC3200U-3033-B0, Assembled in Malaysia, 512mb, DDR, 400, CL3, ECC

Its because the 2nd piece is ECC. Unless you are running a server motherboard, your motherboard will not accept ECC RAM, only non-ECC.

Because it is DDR 333 Mhz (PC2700). It might work if you install it in the slot where the PC3200 RAM is installed and move the PC3200 RAM to another slot. Then both might work fine at 333 MHz.

Why not check what RAM is compatible with your system before buying?
