Hello,
I'm trying to build a rig for doing live video performance and also to plug into my tv for home theater use. I most likely will be playing some games on it as well. I need it to be portable, so I think the micro atx is appropriate. I really would like to save a little money and have some good capability so am opting out of a lap top. The video work takes some juice and am hoping this can handle it. Any advice on overkill, underkill, anything wrong, incompatible, or just plain dumb? I would appreciate some input.
Thanks,

Yup, DDR2 1066 RAM is pretty useless on an Intel build unless you're planning an extreme overclock. I'm assuming that's not the case because you don't have a cooler listed. Check this RAM out:

DDR2 800 RAM with 4-4-4-12 timings at 1.8v is about as good as it gets.

I'd avoid the 7200.11 drives. They're having major problems with them. For the same price, I'd pick up a couple of these instead:

Great advice. I feel funny, I meant to list the dd2 800 but slipped up somewhere.

I most likely will not be overclocking. I know this form factor has a rep for bad cooling, and I am also not a skilled computer man. I like enthusiast specs without having the enthusiast know how. That is why I appreciate all the help from this wonderful forum.

Also, noted on the drives. Thanks.

I am going to put a new list up. Any other thoughts are very appreciated.

Alright, new List.

I decided on a different graphics card based on reviews and crossfire ability vs. price point. All these folks are saying this is a crossfire only mobo, and there is no reason to get it unless you crossfire. There is this whole 8x or 16x dispute. i thought the mobo was great because it did not have onboard graphics, was p45, and geared for someone whole wants a small box and big power.

I do a lot of video performance so I need to be able to move this thing often. I was doing it with a full tower and a crt and it was a nightmare. I don't want a laptop because the power vs price is not to my liking. The DFI mobo seems like the only board up to the task.

One problem I have is that I need firewire. So many video devices, sound devices, and artsy type hardware is firewire only. I don't want to get caught with my pants down. I can get a pci card, but I bet the GPUs will cover the slot.

Thoughts?
