Q6700+p5q deluxe or pheom 2 940+asus 790gx

Basically i cant decide which to go with and i just wanna ask you clever people which one will perform best.

This is for my new gaming rig, for which i already have an xfx 4870 1gb, a cm690 case an a coolermaster real power psu.

I will be overclocking at some point and i will be getting the sunbeam core contact freezer or xigamtek s1283 when i come to that.

nb:Both will cost roughly the same

why not pay the extra for a 955?

also get the 940 build if your choosing out of the two since it performs better and will run cooler aswell as it might overclock better.

I did a quick check at Scan - the Q6700 was £142.22, the PhII 940BE was £167.89 & the PhII 720BE was £116.13.

If you check that Anand link above ... it's the 720BE all the way - it ran toe-to-toe with the Q9550 and 940BE for the most part ...
