I decided to have a good PSU, since it is said to be the most important component in a PC. What I want? Silence, reliability, flexibility for future purchases. I'm thinking of getting Corsair VX550W, but could I come along with a little more affordable power? My current system is

- Intel E2140
- ASRock 4CoreDual-Sata2
- Asus Radeon HD4830 512 Mb
- 2 x Kingston 1024MB 667MHZ DDR2 NON-ECC DIMM
- WD Caviar Se 160GB 7200 SATA II
- Creative SB Live! Value

I'm quite sure I will, in the future, get a new motherboard and CPU, and I want to able to overclock my system a bit. So which PSU would be enough for my needs? Perhaps Chieftec GPS-550AB-A 550W? I have already ordered Chieftec APS-450S 450W, but now I'm questioning it's capability. What do you think? Which PSU do you recommend? Oh, and the budget would preferably be under 100e/ 130$.

Thanks,
Mustko

Thanks for the replys. I just found quite a cheap Corsair HX520w, and I'll probably get it. The results in reviews have been great. So do you think this is a wice decision? What are your experiences?

Corsair has a reputation for high quality power supplies. They always earn high marks in technical reviews and comparisons. Corsair is one of the brands most often recommended by the veteran posters at this forum.

Shadow703793: I'm paying 82.90 e. I don't know how cheap it actually is but originally in the same store it's 99 e.

^That's a good price for you. When converted that's $107.21 (assuming you meant Euro by the e).
On Newegg, it's $100 after MIR, so yeah, you are getting it for a good price considering that you guys usually pay more than us.
