Helping a friend plug in some cheap upgrades to his Dell desktop.

Running 2x1GB DDR2 667 RAM

Can I add 2x1GB DDR2 800 RAM? His Mobo supports 533, 667, and 800, however if I mix this with the existing will it work? I expect that it will downclock to run at 667 as the other existing ram is running, but the price difference is <$2 and there are 2 types of 667 listed on newegg, PC 5300 and PC 5400. All I currently know is that he has 667, and not which PC type he has, so for less that $2, I was going to say add the 800 and it will run fine.

Is that correct?

question answered. I finally found it in the specs file. Mixed memory modules will run at the lowest speed installed.
