As the title states, I recently purchased an ASUS M4A79T Deluxe mobo, and 2 ATI 4850 graphics cards to crossfire. The 2, blue PCIe slots on the mobo run at 16x... so I went ahead and placed both graphics cards in these slots (the manual recommended this for dual cards as well). Well, I went to place the cross-connects on... and they are too short... by an inch. It seems there are 3 PCIe slots in between these 2 blue slots.... so for now I placed the 2 cards in the 2, black PCIe 8x slots. There are only 2 other slots in between the black 8x slots... so it was a shorter distance between the cards. I don't understand this mobo design. Is there longer cross connect cables I need to get? Or is there a way to switch the 2, black 8x slots over to 16x instead?? Thanks.
