Hi there, i got a Windows XP running on SP3 with 248 MB of RAM. It's video memory in the BIOS is 8 MB. How can I step up the ram to 250 MB from 248 MB?
Thanks

You push the bios set up button after you push the power switch.
The button varies by manufacturer. See the setup instruction in the computer manufacturer's manual, it will show you how to enter bios set up mode.
After you enter the bios setup, the memory setting for the video is usually accessible.
save your changes and exit the bios set up.
The computer will then reboot with the new settings.

To run XP you should be using 1 GB of RAM. To install more memory, a lot of times the XP set up disk needs to be used to configure the memory.
Without the disk, sometimes the OS will crash when you install more memory.

And backup all your files before trying to add memory.

If the memory you are plugging is an exact match to the older memory, you may not have any problem. But there is always a chance the problem will occur.
