Hi guy's i just want to ask whats the difference between this two memory, and which one is better. any help would be much appreciated.

2GB DDR2-800 Kingston KVR800D2N5/2G
800 MHz DDR2 PC2-6400 DIMM 240-Pin, 1.8 V (Non-ECC, CL5)




2GB DDR2-800 Kingston KVR800D2N6/2G
800 MHz DDR2 PC2-6400 DIMM 240-Pin, 1.8 V (Non-ECC, CL6)

The fist RAM you listed has a CAS Latency of 5 instead of 6 like the other RAM. Technically, the first RAM would be the higher performer because it has tighter timings but you won't be able to tell the difference. Get the first RAM, KVR800D2N5/2G, because on NewEgg it's the same price as the other RAM.

800 MHz DDR2 PC2-6400 SODIMM 240-Pin, 1.8 V (Non-ECC, CL5)

They are both the exact same RAM. However, the KVR800D2S5/2G is laptop RAM. You can't use it in a desktop.

EDIT: SODIMM RAM is for laptops, DIMM is for desktops.

Hi arson94,

Can I use both kvr800d2n6/2g and kvr800d2n5/2g at the same time? is there no conflict?

More than likely yes. I'm pretty sure you won't have any conflicts. It's a safer bet if the RAM pairs are identical but with the two you asked about, they are probably identical pairs anyhow with just slightly different timings. Timings can be changed in BIOS anyway if need be.
