File sharing from a W7 Machine

I have a Windows 7 machine with a huge HD so I want to share files from it to XP laptops. I followed the instructions for simple file sharing and it works like a champ on my wife's, but on mine I get "mypc\pictures is not accessible . . . Access denied. Because it works on hers, I believe I have the W7 file sharing configured correctly. I just used "Add a Network Place" and walked through the wizard to get the pictures folder accessible on her laptop

The two laptops are virtually identical. They are issued by our employer and configured with XP, the same AVG software, the same firewall settings, same domain names, etc.

With hers, our pictures folder appears in My Network Places every time she fires it up. I've spent hours trying to get the file sharing to work on mine.

What could be different on mine?

Thank you for your help.

SOLVED

Yes I did see that. It wasn't what I was looking for.

However, I did find that by adding "Everyone" to the sharing permissions on the W7 folders, they not only showed up correctly on my XP laptops, but they were shared to my Ubuntu Linux machine as well.

Thanks
