Gateway FX530 CPU fan speed

Hello:
I would like to refer to a post submitted by'copperhead1' (3-12-2009)regarding the FX530 CPU fan speed. My FX530 (14 months old) just began doing the same (ie. fans remain at hi after boot up). Wanted to find out what the final outcome of his troubleshooting was.
Found the BIOS patch in Gateway - no effect. Attempted system restore - no effect. And apparently from 'copperhead1' attempt, factory reset will not help either. Any help here??

Got the fans back to idle. Should have tried the simplest method first. After disconnecting, thorough blow-clean, and reconnecting the CPU, the fans settled back to a nice quiet idle after boot up.
