ok i currently have a gtx 260 should i buy another gtx 260 or just buy a gtx 295

yes, the single 295 will out perform the SLI 260

I don't recommend quad sli for any1, its driver dependant...grab another 260 GTX...it would be almost as fast as 1 295 GTX with out the extra price tag.

285(280) tri > 295 GTX quad > 285(280) GTX sli > GTX295 GTX > 260 GTX sli

But the 260 GTX sli would be your best Price/Performance ratio.

What kills the 295 GTX is the low Vram count for such a high end card (compared to the 100$ cheaper 4870 X2 which is 6 months older) and the small bus width of 448 bits I believe.

As a single GPU the 295 GTX is just a hybrid of 260 GTX and 280 GTX featuring 240 SP.

Apples to Apples the GTX295 and the SLI GTX260(216) are near head to head. 1-2 fps between the 2. considering the SLI can be cheaper cause the GTX295 just went out ...... ill agree with L1QU1D

I still beleive the GTX295 outperform the SLI260. New drivers are going to dig it .... My opinion !


Another idea can be a trade-up for a GTX285 ... and futur SLI ? thats what im currently going to do.

I just upgraded from a GTX 285 to the 295 plus. Anyone want a 285 cheap let me know. About to put it on ebay.

How much you selling it for? And why would u do that? LOL your bound to loose atleast 50$ for a pre used 285 GTX...and the 295 GTX is almost 200$ more, I think that was a waste of cash

Your money would've been better spent on another 285 GTX down the road, which is noticeably faster than a 295 GTX.

But ur money enjoy the card!

I'm thinking $250. I know I'm loosing money, but eventually I SLI the 295. Dunno... had extra cash and instead of going to drink it away I decided to upgrade.

yes but quad sli doesn't scale most of the time, 3 285s beat 2 295s lol so with that extra cash you could've not drank, and upgraded to somethign more important, either i7...or phenom 2, or another 285 GTX lol all of which would've had better results

i7 920 (OC 3.8)
9gb 1600 corsair dominator
V10 cpu cooler
1000 watt PS
and now the GTX 295 plus

That's all I'll do for awhile.

well, its a nice setup ! but 2 GTX285 outperform a single GTX295 ... just to let you know ! and a 3sli ouperform the quad295 ... your still better with the 285 !
