I am in the field of various electromagnetic calculations.
lately there has been a lot of talk about the NVIDIA Tesla. The problem is that I cant seem to find a place that explains the pros and cons of using TESLA (writing the applications especially for it).
If I look only on the flops/sec it is the best thing by a few orders of magnitude, but there has to be a catch. Does any one has an idea?
another thing is that the Tesla card has only 4 GB of RAM, which is not that much when talking about workstations. But on the other hand its huge bandwidth (102 GB/sec) might be fast enough to move data into and off the card.
Any other insights about the NVIDIA TESLA will be appreciated.
