Quick and easy question, can I use an NVIDIA card with this board, or can I only use ATI?

PCIE slot supports either ATI or Nvidia VCs.

I saw reviews saying that the board was built for ATI cards only? I also want to know if SLI is supported?

SLI is not supported. A PCIE slot supports a single card, ati or nvidia. P45 supports Crossfire with ATI cards. Ther are different versions of ASUS 'maximus' MBs. This is the P45 version.

Support ATI CrossFireX™ technology, up to Quad CrossFireX

Thanks, I already have this motherboard in my computer though, I was just wondering if I could use NVIDIA, as my ATI card (4870 1GB) is probably gonna get an RMA unless I can find out what's wrong.

A PCIE slot will support ONE video card, ATI or NVIDIA!

So with your MB your options are:

1 ATI PCIE card

1 Nvidia PCIE card

2 ATI crossfire capable cards configured in Crossfire mode

2 ATI X2 cards configured in Quad Crossfire mode (ATI 4850 X2 or 4870 X2)

...2 Nvidia cards in SLI is not supported by the Intel P45 chipset.
