My system is stock HP with WinMe. It has just recently started freezing up. I tried running scandisk, but it just keeps restarting itself. I turned everything in systray off except explorer and systray and scandisk still wouldn't run. I have dumped all the junk files from my system, and run defrag, just can't seem to figure out why the system keeps locking up and scandisk won't run.Also, while it was locked up once today, it was making kind of an electronic hum noise when I moved the mouse. Very strange. Can somebody point me in the right direction? Thanx.
