I'm considering purchasing a Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 for use with a i7 920 on an EVGA E758-A1. The Noctua compatibility page identifies some issues with all EVGA boards and notes that only one fan can be installed with the E758 board.

I've seen people mention similar issues with other coolers and the E758 and also people mention that they used the combination of the E758 and Noctua.

Has anyone noticed problems with using the Noctua and the E758? Does anyone have suggestions about alternatives to the Noctua that work well without this issue?

Thanks

I've neither component, though I'm curious: would you know what causes this alleged incompatibility between the fan and the motherboard?

The compatibility pages states that "Due to the large heatsink on the VRM-components only one fan can be installed."
