SATA to IDE Converter

Forum Storage : Hard Drives SATA to IDE Converter

Hopefully someone can help, I have a 4 station IDE hard drive mass storage that connects via USB, I have a SATA drive that I was wanting to use in the mass storage with the use of a converter. When I installed the drive (tried master and slave settings) windows and partition magic does not see the new drive or the partner drive on the same cable and will only see the other two IDE drives. I had to unplug all hard drives just to format the new SATA drive, windows and partition magic will see the drive if it's the only drive connected. I have been building computers for many years now and have never come across this problem, then again I have never tried a SATA to IDE converter before, any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
