So, did you make the SATA unit the boot drive, and intend the IDE unit to be available for data? Just curious.

When you did the installation, did you change any jumpers on the IDE unit? I hope you did NOT! As you are aware, IDE devices have jumpers to set them to either the Master or Slave role. These settings are determined entirely by the IDE port, and NOT by the whole computer. So, even if you installed a new SATA drive and made it the boot device, it has NOT become the computer's Master drive! If the old drive on the IDE port was set as that port's Master and you did not change other devices on that same IDE ribbon cable, then it should still be set to Master as before.
