With this motherboard? Because I read somewhere that sometimes the it has integrated sound or something, but sound cards have always confused me.

need no, there is an integrated chip that will produce sound

personally i don't like integrated sound any better than integrated video. I just fried my audigy 2 card and am using integrated sound till i buy a new card. On board sound on a newish mb doesn't even compare to a rather old pci card.

i just put a asus dx in a customers computer it sounds awesome, and I plan on putting a asus d2 in mine when i get around to it.

Use the integrated sound. Then if you are dissatisfied, upgrade to a sound card.

Thanks, I'm glad I asked before I went and spent another $100 on a card I don't need.
