Whats better high mhz or low latency?

Hi i need help i was wondering what is better for gaming a ram running at 1066mhz with a latency of 5-6-6-18 or a ram running 800mhz with a latency of 4-4-4-15? thanks.

More about whats high latency
  1. The 1066 will be faster but the difference is so minute it's impossible to notice without running benhcmarks.
  2. Best is low latency at high mhz. :D

Actually, I'm not so sure, HIB. Most RAM that will run at 800 MHz with 4-4-4-12 timings will run at 1066 MHz at 5-5-5-15. It's virtually the same amount of time (4 cycles/800 MHz and 5 cycles/1066 MHz).
  3. RIght. But if you have that RAM as I do, when I run benchmarks, the scores are better at 1066. However, in real world gaming, the difference in framerates are less than half a percent.
  4. So if I have the following kits available to buy, which one would you guys suggest?

    Kingston DDR2 2x2GB 6400 4-4-4-12 @ $102
    Kingston DDR2 2x2GB 8500 5-5-5-15 @ $115

Prices are high i know, 3rd world sux :(
  5. Both are good choices and really u wont see a noticeable difference between them,if u wan to OC,then IMO go for the one which has lower timings.
