Looking to build a newer Programming/Design Computer with some minor Gaming/Encoding/Decoding/HTPC abilities.

So I've read up on the q6600 and Im happy with it starting as the building platform.

I just dont know where to go for motherboard and videocard, if possible i would like to keep mobo around 200-250 and videocard 300-350

Thanks

don't need to spend that much on a mobo. I would suggest this one for $115 after rebates -

this would allow you to spend more on your video card, although it might end up being overkill depending on the resolution of your monitor and overclocking ability on that processor. I would suggest going with something like a GTX 280 at $305 after rebate-

If you have a high resolution monitor and want to take what you saved on the mobo, you should consider the 4870x2 for $400ish -

or if you really want to go all out, you could go with the gtx295 which is currently the most powerful single card option on the market for $500 -
