Hi

ive got a Q6600 2.4GHz with an average temperature of 35 celsius. i was wodering that if i upgrade to 3GHz it will get to hot and i will have to get a new fan. Is it alright to upgrade? Please tell.

Nobody knows. Depends on Your hsf and case airflow. Try it and You wiill see. I have mine @3.2GHz and it runs 28-30C idle and 51-53C under load with room being 22-25C. Try to keep it under 65 under load

My Q6600 runs around 50C at 3.6GHz under load. Not stress test loads, but normal loads.

Yeah ditto
I got mine at 3ghz and Im at around 28C idle.
