Hey Guys

Got a prob with this computer of mine.
I have a Asus A8N-VM CSM Motherboard with a amd athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 Ghz and windows xp 32 bit.
I only just formated and reinstaled windows today. So far i have got all the patches for windows, installed microsoft security essentials, malaware bites and ccleaner. My lan port wasnt working so i instaled the nivida driver from asus.com and now that works fine.
The only thing left that dosent make scence is that in device manager under other devices i have the following.

Audio Device on High Definition

PCI Simple Communications

Unknown device

Video Controller (VGA Compatible

Can someone please help me.
they dont affect my system but the just annoy me.

The other problem i have is that sometimes usb ports at the back and front just decide not to read a device. It seems to be tatoly random and different things fix it.Is it worth upgrading to the beta version of my bios to fix the usb problem?
Or is it something to do with crossing 1.2 and 2.0 usb?

I have no idea so all hits are greatly appreciated. :)

hey thanks i had a suspicion that that is what i would have to do and i have already done the nvida 430 update.

But i still have 2 in unknown devices called

PCI Simple Communications

and

Unknown Device

Are these part of the asus utilities?

Look in the chipset driver folder containing all the un-zipped/un-compressed files for a folder named SMBus. This driver is usually installed manually.

You'll also need:
Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio.    Get it
