I've found this is the most stable OC i can get with my current RAM, and I have speedstep enabled in the BIOS.

When OCing, is it recommended to keep it on or off? Any advantages or disadvantages to this? Does it affect stability?

When idling, the CPU does clock down, but the voltage stays the same, I guess I might as well turn speedstep off?

at high speeds, turn the speedstep off, you can get system instability from switching multipliers on the fly (because of needed voltage increase)

If you're system's 100% stable with them enabled I see no problem with them. My Q6600 was fine at 3.2GHz with EIST enables, but it's disabled at 3.6GHz

I routinely run my e8400 at 4 GHz with speedstep off. It'll boot okay with EIST enabled but I'll get crashes on 3DMark06. However, with EIST off I can run the benchmark all the way as many times as I have time for.
