I have a 9800 gtx, and i was playing a game, and it crashed. I checked my video card temps and found out they were at 100 C! The reason this happened is because my fan control utility stopped working. The card still works, but i would just like to know if i've damaged the card, and if so by how much.
You're cutting it close. From what I've read, the maximum temperature the 9800GTX can stand before continually crashing is around 105'C. And you start getting damage above 110'C.
If you see artifacts then the memory has probably been damaged but they`ll usually crash before they burn and the only way to test the card is to use it.
