I tried asking ATI about this question but I got wrong answers.
Specs if it helps
Antec 1200
Corsair 1000hx
Intel core i7 920
Corsair 3x2g 1600
Asus Rampage II extreme
4870x2 sapphire
In the ATI overdrive section in Catalyst Control Center, It says select GPU to congifure and it give me two GPU options. one is
ATI Radeon HD 4870x2 [ SyncMaster ] and the other is just
ATI radeon HD 4870x2
I only have one GPU. so is this normal or is it reading that I have two GPUs? Whats the difference in the two options when Overclocking?
simple and stupid questions but Its worth asking and I did try to google this
It reports the two gpus on the card, tbh, i ain't sure how it affects overclocking but i believe the one with the monitor is the primary one that is farthest from the fan.
------------------------------I'm a git, deal with it.
Don't bother on that... the one 'ATI Radeon HD 4870x2 [ SyncMaster ]' is the one to which your monitor is connected.... the other shows the unused DVI port... not the other GPU thing. So select 'ATI Radeon HD 4870x2 [ SyncMaster ]' and do OverClocking..
