For the Rosewill RX35-AT-SU3 BLK Full Aluminum Cover, Metal Tray 3.5" Black USB 3.0 External Enclosure one of the customer reviews left by Reddog on 7/21/2010 had a note at the end:

Note: Anybody wanting to use this enclosure with an Asus P6X58D Premium motherboard will need to download the latest USB 3 firmware and drivers from the Asus site. I initially thought that the enclosure was faulty, but it turned out to be the original Asus/NEC USB3.0 implementation.

Your motherboard, the ASUS P7P55D-E PRO, uses the same NEC USB 3.0 controller.

On the ASUS web site the following two downloads from here should be made and applied:

NEC USB3.0 Controller firmware updater V3.0.2.1 for Windows XP / Vista / Win7 32&64bit

I am having a similar issue with my USB 3.0 setup as well. I'm transferring between 15-25MB/s which is no where close to the advertised specs. I am using a Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 (rev 2.1) motherboard and the Vantec NexStar external enclosure. Both the HDD in the CPU and in the external case are Seagate SATA II, 7200RPM and they should be transferring much faster. I have USB driver version 2.0.4.0 from Gigabyte's website installed. How can I increase the speed up to 80MB (or higher) that other people are reporting?

PS - I'm running Windows 7 (64bit)
