Hey guys.
I bought a 8800GTS (G92) and it will arrive soon.
Got bored and checked my specs.
Everything from the PSU to the processor is OK, except the mobo.
It is MSI k9n4 ultra-f motherboard, which is based on a nforce 500 ultra board, so it's PCI express should be 1.0.
Question: will the GPU work with the PCI-E 1.0? I know it works with 1.1 but for 1.0 I'm still not quite sure thanks guys.

Yes. pci-e 2.0 and 1.1 are backwords compatible with 1.0

Yes, the card should work fine. Hopefully the wait isn't to long as I know how daunting that can be. lol

i recall reports about 2.0 cards not working with 1.0 slots.
Whatever right now, I'll find out when I get the card.

Some people say that cards do not work with some older mobo's due to bios issues but not sure how backed up that claim is.

Cant remember specifics but its definatly true there was a whole thread on a differant forum a while back about which specific boards had issues with which cards. It wasnt which PCIE generation 1.0 or 1.1 etc it was some boards specifically having issues with 8800 cards. Not the G92 as far as i can remember rom :) and also when teamed with specific Wolfdale CPU's.
I just did a quick google concerning Compatability with that Mobo and GPU and didnt get any specific hits :)
