I have a DVI-D female port on my docking station for my laptop. If I connect a DVI-d cord to the port and then run that to a DVI-d to VGA Adapter that then connects to a VGA cord to the monitor. Would that work? Thanks

Well the usual way around it is to put a DVI to VGA adaptor on to the graphics card then just run a VGA cable to the monitor. There is no reason that doing it your way wont work. Do bear in mind though that for every adaptor you use you risk a loss of Quality.
