I have an Acer Aspire 5003 laptop running an AMD Turion 1.8MHz, 1GB RAM, 100GB HDD and a Broadcom wireless LAN. The original system was running XP Pro. Last week I upgraded to Win 7 and my wireless connection speed has dropped to 2.5 - 5.0kbps. Nothing else in my wireless network has changed and my 2 desktop computers running wireless are operating as expected, both are also Win 7. After trying to get the wireless speed up to expected levels without any results I restored the laptop back to the original XP Pro. However the slow wireless speed is still with me. I have tried to update the Broadcom drivers but it still doesn't help. Any ideas on how to bring my wireless speed back up?
Maybe your ISP is having problems temporarily. Try rebooting the router and modem, see if that helps. Try a usb wifi adapter so that you can rule out a hardware problem.
