whats the difference between pentium dual core, core 2 duo, and this new "pentium" which comprises of the E5xxx's and E2xxx's?
Pentium Dual Core is the same as E2x00 series, and E5x00 series. The minor differences are: E2x00 = 65nm , 1mb cache E5x00 = 45nm, 2mb cache Not to be mixed up with Pentium D P4, which is old tech. The Core2 Dual encompasses: E4x00 E7x00 E6x00 E8x00
but it doesnt mean that all the c2d line up is better than the pdc's? (e4xxx vs e5xxx)
They aren't better in their design, because PDC uses the same micro architecture as C2D. Cache, FSB, SSE4 are the big differences.
