Will an intel core 2 quad q6700 CPU even work with a C19A sli motherboard? i installed the processor and the system will turn on and run, but not POST, help please! thanks

I checked the website, wish i had done that before i brought the proc

so does anybody know a reasonably cheap decent mobo for the CPU?

G31 mobo's are cheap, they don't oc well though.

motherboards are where my knowledge of computers pretty much ends, everything else i know fairly well because ive probably upgraded it 20 times, but not a mobo

ABIT is awesome, but sadly out of the mobo business.

Gigabyte and Asus both make very high quality boards. ASRock is a subsidiary of Asus that specializes in making cheep yet effective OCing boards. Be sure to get something based off of either P35/P45, as after nForce4, nVidia chipsets started to suck a big one.

I have the ABIT IP35-E and it is awesome. There isn't anything it can't do. But like B-Unit said, they are done but you might be able to find some onlone somewhere. They are good boards and the website still supports them.

ok, but now i have a strange problem, whenever i tell windows to shut down, it will, and then immediately restart

I have already checked in the power management settings that it is set to shut off when given such a command and checked in the bios for a similar one, everything seems right, any ideas?
