Hello..

I'm trying to run at least cpu, vga water cooled system with a possibility of expansion upto ram and the mobo as well in the future. I'll be buying 120.3 or 120.4 radiator and appropriate gears with enough power for future upgrade to full water cooling. my planned rig is as follows,

700D case+i7 930 +gigabyte x58 board, HD 5870(will go CF in the future once the price settles), triple chanl ram, intel 80g SSD(OS)+ 250g hdd, 300g hdd(data)

Would hx750w PSU from Corsair be enough for my rig or do I have to go over $200 psu zone to be safe?

Thanks in advance!

Two HD 5870s with an i7 975 @ 3.33 GHz, or an i7 930 with a mild o/c, uses around 600W. Depending on how big your overclock and how much your water cooling system uses (my knowledge is pretty lacking in his area), you may or may not need 750W. If you want to play it safe then 850W wouldn't be a bad idea, although it really depends on how much your w/c uses (I don't even know if the pump is connected to the PSU lol) and your overclock.

your comment is definitely sheding some light my way. Although i don't think WC pump requires that much wattage from the PSU I still think running 3 hdds( includin the SSD) will require extra wattage from the PSU. I guess my rig would be just under 750w if I were to do mild OCing on 930. But what I want to do is stable 3.8~4.1G for daily use. It seems like I have to go 850w just to be safe..

Oh wow..Corsair amazes me yet again. I love their products! hm.. Should I risk it and go for 750w to save some pretty bucks? :D

Thank you very much that site really helped me a bunch looks like I can run CF set-up for just under 700ws.

Looks like I will go for the hx750w!
