2x1gb in dual channel + 512mb or only the 2x1gb in dual channel?

Ok so currently I have 1.5 gigs of ram.

One 1 gig stick and a 512mb stick.

I'm going to buy another gig stick, so how exactly would I set them up?

Would I have to put the 2 one gig sticks into dual channel and have the 512mb stick in single channel?

Or should I just get rid of the 512mb and have the 2 1gb sticks in dual channel?

Thanks!

I know how to put it in dual channel but I'm wondering what's better?

2x1gb in dual channel ALONE
OR
2x1gb in dual channel PLUS 512mb.

I thought by reading through the info you could draw your own conclusions.

Memory channel speed is determined by the slowest DIMM module populated in the system.

What are the specs on your memory?

the 1gb stick is: ddr2 667 pc2-5300
and the 512mb stick is pc2-4300
and the new 1gb stick will be pc2-5300

I think you have a typo.
If the 512mb is PC2-4200 leave it out.

If the 512mb is PC2-5300 go ahead and use it. You will gain a little.
When buying your new Module try to match voltage and timing of the one you already have.
