I am trying to instal windows XP professional onto my computer, but when I go to install it an error message appears stating that there is no HDD installed. I don't know what to do, I have tried changing the boot priority of the CDRom drive but this doesn't work. Could someone help please

When do you get the message that there is no HDD installed? Do you ever see the XP setup screen?

You may need drivers for your hard drive for which you can press F6 during the initial setup load screen.

maybe it's your IDE cable or sata cable is defective check your cable...

If your sata controller is set to AHCI or RAID instead of IDE, you need to install drivers during setup via the F6 option like CompTIA said.
