I have two 512MB Module 512MB-533MHz DDR2-533 PC2-4200, 240p DIMM, 1.8v 680ms-680 chips in my HP Pavilion t3265.uk Desktop.

I was a bit shocked about what is been charged for one of these modules and they were out of stock anyway - could I get away with something more genaric and cheaper?

Regards

Mark

Yes you can use generic memory that matches the memory type (i.e. DDR2). I pretty much buy kingston memory for the work machines that need additional memory due to the ridiculous mark-up for HP "verified" memory.
