Ok, I built my Computer about 2 years ago and have updated over the years. In the updating I bought a motherboard that crossfires but came with a SLI Bridge. So I figured why not get another GPU and giver hell.
Though I just found out that that doesn't work. So now I have 2x8800GTX and can't use em in SLI.
Now that you know my mistake, which ATI cards would match around the same power of the 2x8800gtx's or 2x8800gts's.
Please know I don't know much about ATI and that why most likely I got a Crossfire mobo without knowing it couldn't SLI.
I think the OP has 8800 GTX, not 8800 GT - that is significantly different.
You just bought 8800GTXs? They are pretty old tech now (though they still perform).
You're going to get 2 new GPUs to replace the two that you have that won't work on your board? Wouldn't it be just as cost effective to buy a new motherboard?
I'd say the 4870 would put you about on par with those GPUs
The price would be better to yes just replace the motherboard. Though I will sell the 8800gtxs, and I have two because I bought the first when they weren't so low tech. Though I can say they perform just fine for myself.
After selling the gtxs and looking up the prices for the 4870s I can brake about even maybe a little up.
