So i finally decided to OC after i got a new Antec 902 case. I checked my temps and got around 50ish idle, which was pretty high. So i decided to restart my computer and now i get this.

Now I am sure that's wrong, is my temperature detector broken or something? If so, is that fixable?

also i know this is getting ahead of myself but, lets say the 50ish idle temps were right. That's a bit high above the norm isn't it?
I would have liked to be able to reach maybe 4 ghz ( which is very unlikely looking at the idle temps right now), so i guess i need a aftermarket hsf. Are there any recommended ones that would allow me to do so? Thanks alot!

You must heard a lot of BS from AMD fanboys who stated that 955 can be OCed to 4GHz easily with stock heat sink. I can tell you that most 955/965 can't do 4GHz even with aftermarket HSF and 3.8GHz won't be easy too based on my experience. I had built about seven 955/965 systems and only one 955 could do 4GHz with Megahalems.

nah i know 4ghz is impossible with stock hsf, i just want to know if it was possible with any aftermarket ones, but 3.8 is also good. It also seems that the Megahalems is out of stock right now, any other good ones? Still need to fix the 0 degrees core temp 1st though.

I have no idea on that HSF. How about COOLER MASTER V6 RR-V6SV-22PR-R1 which is $10 less and has copper heatpipes and base?

The frio is good but very noisy, coolmaster hyper 212+ is amazing for the price only $14.99 but is not the best (its in the same league though) see http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065R at the $14.99 current price its almost a must buy as its nearly as good as the V8. The Tuniq Tower 120 mentioned above is also very good, I think better than any coolmaster with maybe the exception on the hugely expensive V10.

this is back at all stock, i raised the mutiplyer by like 2% to just check the temps, and i got like 55 C idle, after i restarted and turn it back to stock, i got the current 0C temp.
