Why no 5.25" discs?

Just wondering, because if they still made 5.25" discs they probably could pump out 4TB or more per drive, and probably less relative cost to 3,5" discs. Obviously they would be louder, use more power, and be a lot slower, but for someone who just wants lots of cheap storage, wouldn't this be a good idea?

Like if you spend $100 on a laptop drive, you'll get a 640GB disc or maybe 750GB if you're lucky.
If you spend $100 on a 3.5" drive, you'll get a 1.5TB disc or maybe even a 2TB disc if you know where to look. So wouldn't 5.25" HDDs be a good, cheap storage medium?
