Hello,
When booting into windows i get message "Generic host process for win 32 services has a problem and needs to shut down". 100% cpu usage also. Details end with WER8F8D.DIR00.SVCHOST.EXE.MDMP. Or ending in APPCOMPAT.TXT. Please advise, thanks, jim.

The full details are (C:\Docume1\RobGon1\locals1Temp\WER8F8D.DIR00SVCHOST.EXE.MDMP) The next msg. is the same except instead of ending in svchost.exe.mdmp, it ends in APPCOMPAT.TXT. It happens every time I boot up and CPU usage is 100% until I close the message. This is a neighbors machine approx 2003 vintage running XP SP3, P4 2.66, 512K DDR etc,...... Once it closes the machine seems to be ok, but I hate tedo give it back like this. The original complaint was not booting, found the HDD molex was disconnected..........now this. Does anyone know the consequences of not fixing this message, or how to fix it? I thought of XP repair disc but dont have his. I have an old XP Pro disc, will that repair it? Kinda lost.... Help much appreciated.
