Normal-periodic disk backup to external hard drive is via Acronis True Home 11. Error message received today for first time with above response. Appreciate advise on how to fix.
FYI--running PC Tools Registry Mechanic had no effect. Microsoft Security Essentials did not find anything. Other problem (related?) is that approximately 100mb of HD space is disappearing almost daily, and computer is running slowly. Thanks.

you are loosing 100mb of HD space every day? maybe your backup software is set to automatically do a backup every day?
