Accessing linksys router

how do I access my linksys router to see if it is set for mixed mode. My old b and c adapter won't work. I typed in 192.168.1.4 but nothing opened up

typically you should be typing 192.168.1.1 if thats your default gateway

to check what your default gateway is:
go to Run>type in cmd /k ipconfig /all > hit enter or OK
in the window that opens up, find the default gateway

*note, in order to do this procedure you need to be connected to your router by wire or have wireless logon option enable on the router and be connected to wireless network.
