I have a GA-H55M-USB3 motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128429)
Intel Core i3 530 @ 2.93 GHz
G.SKILL 4GB (2x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231193&Tpk=G.SKILL%204GB%20F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ)
default CPU multiplier of 22x and memory multiplier of 10x with 133.3 MHz of base clock.
First I increased the base clock speed to 200 MHz, which overclocked my CPU to 4.4 Ghz and memory to 2000 MHz, I adjusted v-core/CPU VTT/DRAM voltages accordingly and the system rebooted itself after I ran Windows 7 Experience Index. I believe it was during the CPU phase that it rebooted, but not exactly sure.
Then I changed the base clock speed to 191 MHz, so the CPU is 4.2 GHz and memory at 1910 MHz. I ran Windows 7 Experience Index twice this time, no problem. After the Experience Index, I ran IntelBurnTest, set it to 5 tests with Standard stress level. It passed. Then I ran it again with Maximum stress level, the system shut down and restarted before first test was completed, the CPU temperature at the time was around 92'C.
I thought CPU overheat was the problem, so I turned up the case fan speed from low to high and tried IntelBurnTest again. This time, I got a Blue Screen of Death just few seconds after I ran the test. The system rebooted itself again.
Now I am not really sure if it's the overclocked CPU or memory that's causing the problem, any ideas? Thanks.
