So what is a good, affordable gigabit router for cable connection with about 8 ports????-And why are we not seeing these being previewed much for the home consumer?
Thanks in advance
I don't think a standard residential DSL or cable line can use up 100Mbps, thus a 1000Mbps router is seen as useless. If you want/have a 1000Mbps LAN, you can use a 100Mbps router with a 1000Mbps switch. Plug your Internet line into the router, then plug the router into the uplink port on the switch. Plug each computer into one of the other ports on the switch and you'll have a 1000Mbps LAN with shared Internet access.
