Hey guys! I'm trying to build a PC for gaming. My goal is to play Crysis on very high settings, but I also want to play WoW, Half-Life 2, Call of Duty 4, Sins of a Solar Empire, and Empire: Total War. Currently I am taking some flak for my build on some forums, but I'd like to hear what you think. I'm currently around $1500, but if I can trim some more off that price, while still playing Crysis on very high settings, that would be fantastic. Thanks guys!

MSI X58-PRO Intel X58 CrossFire Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, Triple-Channel DDR3, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, Triple PCI-E MB

Now if you think that my set up isn't right, my other options are:

Motherboard:
Asus P6T Intel X58 Chipset CrossFire and SLI Supported w/7.1 Sound, Triple-Channel DDR3, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, 3-Way SLI PCI-E MB 3-Way SLI [+ $25]

EVGA X58 SLI Intel X58 Chipset CrossFire and SLI Supported w/7.1 Sound, Triple-Channel DDR3, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, 3-Way SLI PCI-E MB 3-Way SLI [+ $135]

PSU:

700 Watt -- Power Supply SLI Ready [+ $0]
750 Watt -- Corsair CMPSU-750TX Power Supply Quad SLI Ready [+ $55]

Graphics Card:
I didn't know if the GTX 285 would be best for this build, or if I should go with 2x 4850 1gig in crossfire, or would 2x 4870 1gig in crossfire? Or maybe you can recommend something even better for the build?

This is actually the first gaming computer I've ever tried to put together, so please feel free to assist in any way possible. All of your thought, insight, and comments are GREATLY appreciated. Thanks again!

This is all best done on the new build forum, where you'll get more help.

This looks like you are trying to use some third party builder for this?

PSU - Corsair 750. You are going to have a box of high end parts. Do not scrimp on the power supply.

Go with one of the Asus P6T motherboards and the Corsair 750PSU. Ceck out the graphics cards charts on the tom's homepage for specific game performances.

Another +1 for the P6T and Corsair PSU.

I'd also suggest getting a 640 GB HDD instead of the 500GB - great performance and price.
