how much of a performance gain would i get by replaceing my Sli setup with a GTX 285 + a 8800gt in physx ?

depends on the rest of your system. At a optimal setting I'd say about 285+8800 is twice as much as 2x8800 or even more in other games.

the rest of my system is

E8400 3.0ghz dual core
4Gb of DDR2 800
XFX 780i motherboard
2 seagate baracudas 1x500gb 1x250gb bolth 32mb cache
PC Power and Cooling 610watt continous at 83% effciency peak 670 watts
