I'm doing my first build, most of my parts were delivered yesterday and my case is coming today. I ordered a Gigabyte motherboard that supports 1066 with 4 memory slots. I also ordered 4GB (2x2GB) of 1066 RAM. My old computer (the one I'm on right now) has 3GB (1x2GB and 1x1GB) of 667. Of course I plan to use the new 1066 in my new build, but I'll have 2 open memory slots. Should I put the 3GB from this computer in my new one? I know if I do that my 1066 will run at the slower speed, but would the extra 3GB make it worth it?

I wouldnt. 4gb is plenty(for most users), plus 1066 and dual channel will make it fast. Also, theres no guarantee that mixed modules would work together at all.

I'm just running the 4GB of 1066. Works good, plenty of RAM for me. Thanks.
