what can i get that will run crysis on at least all high/gamer settings 1280x1024 with no AA? id like to stick with nvidia because i hate changing brand unless ive been let down by the make im currently using.

I dont have much budget, was looking at around £150 ($200). Was looking at some of the higher clocked 9800gtx+ cards, which look good value.

Dont want to go for a gtx 260 if i can help it right now coz i cant afford a new psu.

I haven't played much crysis but for say 150 dollars US currency, you can usually pick up an ATI 4850 which may do what you are wanting.

9800gt runs right around $110 us. played crysis just fine. gtx+ is going to be a little better.

your question looks pretty close to this chart

personally i dont spend the extra money on the preoverclocked cards. when you can overclock the stock card to those settings and save the money.

the 4850 is the better card for crysis

Say for 1280x1024 resolution.

8800GT/9800GT or 4830 runs it on high

9800GTX/GTX+ or 4850 runs it on very high (with post processing and a few others on high)

I have the 9800GTX myself and play it at 1280x1024. I have everything set to very high with just 3 options (post processing, and 2 others) set to high. I have AA on x2 or x4.

The game gets a very playable 30 fps average with fraps. (higher without fraps)

Which psu do you currently have?

I dont mind spending more money on pre overclocked since its only £150, id rather pay extra than break it myself while OC'ing and void warranty since i always get bad luck!

i have the 500w corsair, but only one pcie connector, but i beleive that bfg one has only one connector needed.

Be awesome if i can get some settings on very high, i love crysis but i hate it when it makes me turn the settings down

This is a very nice graphic card and will handle crysis with high settings at decent resolution. your psu will run this card fine.
