Link computer to router by ethernet cable and log in to the user setup pages using your browser (see router manual for default address/username/password).

Once in go to wireless settings and wireless security in there you should see your passphrase.

WPA is in in alphanumeric, WEP may be in hex so the best thing is to highlight the lettering and copy it using mouse left click.

In some cases the passphrase may be illegible -- you'll need to reset it and apply the new one to your wireless adapter as well.

Things are simpler with some ISP supplied routers because the default user passphrase is often printed on a label on the router.
